A large police operation in the Algarve saw a dozen foreign-registered vehicles seized for being in Portugal for too long.
The operation was staged by GNR police in cooperation with the UK’s Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs.
The purpose of the operation, which was staged from 5 to 7 December, was to detect tax and customs offenses.
Checkpoints were set up along the border with Spain as well as on the road to Faro airport, with restaurants, bars and boats also being targeted.
