A low emissions zone within Barcelona’s ring roads came into effect on new year’s day. It covers an area of more than 95 square kilometres which includes Barcelona and the municipalities adjacent to the ring roads, where traffic of the most polluting vehicles will be restricted.

The measures prohibit travel of cars and mopeds that do not have an environmental label and applies from 7am to 8pm Monday to Friday, excluding vehicles for people with reduced mobility, emergency services, temporary activities and daily permits.
