Motorhome sales increased by more than 24 percent in the last year, reaching record levels in Portugal.
According to a report by Dinheiro Vivo, datat regarding motorhomes was provided by the Associação Automóvel de Portugal (ACAP) and reflect the growth of the motorhome business in Portugal.
According to ACAP, in 2021, 472 vehicles were sold. This number compares with the 380 vehicles sold in 2020 and the 284 sold in 2019, showing that compared to the pre-pandemic year, 2021 was synonymous with a 66 percent jump.
In the second-hand market, the demand for motorhomes has also exploded, says Dinheiro Vivo. “During the spring and summer [of ], demand increased considerably”, indicates OLX, which reveals that from April to July of that year there was a 400 percent increase. In 2021, the growth in demand for motorhomes was lower — but still considerable: from April to July, sales rose by another 150 percent.
